My name is Preston, and I have been in software for nearly 10 years, working professionally in the game industry for the last 5 years. I have designed and built core systems across all these projects, maintaining and improving games with clean, efficient code and robust solutions.

Firmament
Firmament is a puzzle-adventure game by Cyan, the game studio behind the best-selling games Myst and Riven.

My responsibilities on this project were to port the game from PC to PS4, PS5, PS5 Pro and PSVR 2 in Unreal Engine 5. Some of my tasks included optimzing performance on PS5 and PS5 pro to reduce screen tearing and resolving issues that come along with switching platforms.

Don't Starve
Don’t Starve is an uncompromising wilderness survival game full of science and magic.

I was tasked with updating the console editions of the game to include hundreds of newly released bug fixes and quality-of-life updates in a proprietary game engine. I addressed technical issues, worked with a QA team to design several new bug fixes, provided post-release support and developed a solution to patching previously-released DLC on Nintendo Switch.

Ruined King
Ruined King is a turn-based RPG revolving around League of Legends Champions, where players explore Bilgewater and set sail for the Shadow Isles to uncover the secrets of the deadly Black Mist.

I was responsible for porting the game from PC to Xbox Series X for Xbox Game Pass release in Unity. I implemented DLC items, developed debug commands for testing purposes, optimized performance and fixed bugs.

Immortality
An interactive trilogy from Sam Barlow, creator of Her Story.

This was a PC to Xbox Series X for Games Pass port in Unity. I designed and implemented the achievement, user control systems and save systems, including an integrated system to save and load the exact frames watched as thumbnails, and sync save data accordingly.

Virtual Virtual Reality 2
In this darkly funny action/adventure game, pilot your mech body through the chaos of a dying metaverse, rescuing abandoned avatars along the way.

My tasks for this project included porting the game from Oculus Quest to PlayStation VR and to support SteamVR. I also built the core save system and rebuilt the tutorial sprites.

Sam & Max: This Time It's Virtual!
Sam and Max: This Time It's Virtual is a VR adventure game developed by Happy Giant, where the player joins Sam the Dog and Max the rabbit-thing in their never-ending quest to slap the stupid grin off the face of evil.

This was a port from Oculus Quest to PlayStation VR. I was responsible for designing and implementing the save system, trophy system, and the rebuilding the tutorial sprites. I also addressed technical issues and optimized for performance in focused areas throughout the game.
